Putting iiNet Modems into Safe Mode

This article will teach you how to set your iiNet modem to G.DMT mode (“safe mode”) for an ADSL2+ or Naked DSL service.

G.DMT does not apply to any other broadband technologies (e.g. NBN™) so you won't find instructions for iiNet modems which are not supplied for ADSL2+ or Naked DSL services.

Alternatively, on-net customers may toggle their Connection Profile to Safe Mode in Toolbox.

What is safe mode?

G.DMT mode has a maximum speed limit of 8Mbps but it also provides the most stability, making it useful if your connection is suffering dropouts.

If your modem was not purchased from iiNet, please check its user manual or visit the manufacturer's website for support information on how to set your modem to G.DMT (or G.992.1) mode.
