Handset is not MMS-compatible Some older handsets don’t have the ability to send or receive MMS. Make sure that both your handset and your recipient’s handset are MMS-compatible.
Network Outage iiNet Mobile operates on the Optus network. You can visit the Optus coverage website and click the "Outages" tab at the top right of the map to see if there are any outages in your area.

  1. If you can send SMS but not MMS, there may be an issue with your mobile handset settings. You may need to manually select your mobile carrier, or apply the following network settings for MMS.

For more information on how to do this, please check your handset manufacturer's website for support information.

  3. If an MMS is failing to send, make sure that your 3G mobile data is enabled. You may need to adjust your settings for mobile data.

  4. If an MMS is failing to send, it may be that the file size is exceeding the limit allowed by your network and/or handset settings, especially for video MMS. Take a smaller image or shorter/lower quality video to reduce file size and then try again.

  5. If you see an error message like “Message not sent this time”, then the send may have failed due to congestion on the mobile network (this may happen at crowded events such as music festivals). Try to send the message at a later time.

  6. If you see an error message like “Message send failed”, then you may need to check your mobile handset settings to ensure that the SMSC (Short Message Service Centre) or MCN (Message Centre Number) is set to +61411990001. Please check your handset’s user manual if you’re not sure how to do this.

  7. If you can’t send SMS or MMS to an international number, please be aware that some international networks do not support SMS/MMS features. If this is the case and you have a smartphone, you and your recipient may want to try an instant messaging app like Skype, or simply send them an email.

  8. If you know that the mobile network of international number you’re messaging does support SMS/MMS, then make sure the number is dialled correctly. The country code should replace the first zero in a mobile number. If the first digit of the mobile number is not a zero, then just dial the country code before the entire mobile number.

Example: Messages sent to a London mobile number 07937 123 123 should be dialled as +447937123123.
